Knapp Manufacturing was established in 1963 as a compounder for janitorial products. In 1969 a 9,000 square foot plant was built on its present location on a 160,000 industrial site in Fresno, California. As Knapp Manufacturing continued to grow over the years, two addition warehouses, totaling 19,000 square feet, were constructed on the site to facilitate storage.

From its inception, Knapp Manufacturing has produced a variety of polyethylene and wax emulsions for its own use in making floor finishes. In 1983, the decision was made to expand and utilize Knapp Manufacturing’s production capacity by selling emulsions to other manufacturers of floor finishes and coatings. The response from this new group of customers was better than expected, and in 1987 a new pressure reactor was installed that quintupled the emulsification capacity. Knapp Manufacturing is now recognized as a major supplier of polyethylene, wax, carnauba, and paraffin emulsion supplied to the ink, paint, fruit processing, adhesive and coatings industries worldwide.

Knapp Manufacturing produces 125 different products including dozens of emulsions. In addition Knapp Manufacturing produces a line of agricultural spray adjuvants, industrial cleaners, degreasers, janitorial products, anti-graffiti cleaners and coatings, and offers a full service private label and packaging program.
